At the moment, we have a group working with Haitians in the village who have no documentation to be registered at the public school. They are the ones in needs. We also have different projects dealing with internet, with preparing the people for work and finding work for them. We have volunteers who decide to work in conjunction with the churches, so they work with the Dominicans from the specific church. We organized a group of Dominican adolescents, the group is called Los Montaneros, we prepare some activities with them. They are very good children and always willing to invent something! They like to organize events in order to recuperate some funds for their activities or just to prepare meals in the river!

You will work in collaboration with the other volunteers at SunCampDR. For the teaching program, we have a volunteer who keeps in touch and comes regularly here. The new volunteers are welcome  and trained by the ones already working in the village. The integration to your new mission is enhanced in that manner.

4 . What language is needed?

You only need to speak your native language. We want to teach them and give them motivation to learn and get ready for eventual work in tourism. Local people speak Spanish or Creol. At the moment, the local leaders are: Evantz, Patrick, Ricardo (each of them is the director of a local school) and for the sports, Adomio. A volunteer started an internet Center in Munoz where help will be given to the community. You are welcome to join this project!
