Our weeklong getaway includes studio or apartment accommodations with 5 riding days (more upon request). SunCampdr Rural Apartments, the shelter for your riding enchantment, will set you up for a happy, relaxing and rewarding outdoor Holiday. Fountain of youth is what you feel while refreshing in the crystal clear water at Suncamp’s swimming hole.


SunCampdr is located in the small tropical village of Muñoz, 2.5 km from the Playa Dorata Hotel Complex and beach in Puerto Plata. For the budget minded riders, we offer the most competitive equestrian rates for a simple, unforgettable riding experience in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.

Rates:

Choose a Studio or an apartment (equipped kitchenette for your convenience). We have a selection of 5 beautiful and different riding excursions. Meals are not included.

For one week: 8 days/7 nights the price is only $ 525! Add only +$95 / week for single supplement. Upgrade to 1 bedroom apartment for +$125 / week.

For two weeks: 15 days/ 14 nights the price is only $ 925!

1-Beach Tour: 9.00a.m. - 3 p.m.

Appreciate riding through the typical villages and witness breath taking sceneries of this Caribbean island. A gallop through the Sugar cane fields will lead you to your exclusive tropical ride along Boca Nueva and Bergantine beaches…an emotional and rewarding experience!

(P.S. Beach riding possible if allowed by the Tourist Office at this specific time).

The ideal temperature of the waters of the Atlantic Ocean welcomes you for the refreshing swim you deserve….

And finally, just enjoy your typical lunch buffet, or your fresh fish or lobster. Delicious food!

2-Sunset Ride Tour: 3.30 – 6:30 p.m.

Evening ride through countryside & mountain trails. You will see all the color effects when the sun goes down and shines across the palm tree leaves. On the back of your horse, reach a high elevation in order to enjoy a better view… At some points, your eyes may reach the ocean, as far as the airport and Sosua!

Stop for soft drinks. Why not try coconut water or sugar cane juice (guarapo)?

3-Mountain Tour: 9.00a.m. - 3 p.m.

Mountain trail riding through the rich and green vegetation will lead you to the true discovery of the secrets of the Dominican Republic… You will be pointed out all the different Palm trees and their use for construction or food. You will pass by different fruit trees and plantations: oranges, grapefruits, lemons, guavas, coconuts, avocados, mangos and more specific agricultural products of the tropics. Depending on the season, you can taste the different fresh fruits.

-Welcome to the typical villages! You will be amazed by the originality of their construction and materials! They hang their clothes to dry on the trees or cactus which form the fence around the house. While witnessing a different way of living of happy people and enjoying the sceneries, you will feel a profound emotion like being part of a movie….almost unreal!

  • A refreshing swim in a lagoon is your next stop! You will not resist the crystal clear water inviting you to the fountain of youth! (Water is clear unless it has just rained). Now you feel all rested and ready for healthy food…….
  • A Typical Dominican lunch buffet offering you a choice of chicken in a Creole sauce, fried beef meat, rice and beans, spaghetti, different salads and fresh coffee. (A few additional typical preparations made of yuca or other typical roots.)

4-Discovery Tour: 9.00a.m. – 12.00 a.m

Today is the encounter with Mother Nature and the culture of local people! Ride across tropical plantations, gallop in the country side, stop and learn about important export products like cacao and coffee. Learn about the important sugar cane industry and its facts (used to be number one industry in the country). Socialize with the farmers. More facts about Dominican life ( facilities, work, wages, values, etc). Visit a Dominican family in their humble house and see how they survive with basic facilities and tools, and how they cook on wood or charcoal. Watch the children play at school and learn about their educational system. Ready to join for a Domino game? Their favorite pastime...

Stop for soft drink. You can also taste the local rum made of sugar cane!

5-Adventure Tour: 9.00a.m. – 4.00 9.m

    Discover new trails and you will pass through the Haitien village and meet families. You will discover other beauties of Mother Nature with tropical plantations and other fruit trees. Enjoy the Dominican Typical buffet and take a look inside the kitchen to see how they still cook on wood or charcoal.

  • Bring your bathing suit, hat and sunscreen

Lodging:

The studios and apartments are simple and basic but fully furnished with an equipped kitchen. You can enjoy the tropical gardens, sundeck and swim in the fresh lagoon. The 24 apartments at Suncampdr are located across the hotel Complex of Playa Dorada in Muñoz Village, Puerto Plata, North Coast, Dominican Republic..

You have easy access to public transportation, laundry facilities, pool table, public phone, internet, hot water, barbecue and a natural pool. No need for air conditioning in the apartments (only fans), they stay cool due to the open air style and with the fresh air coming from the river.
