Puerto Plata / Dominican Republic Discover the Other Dominican Republic; Rustic Accommodation; much more Than an Apartments, Studios or Rooms Rental in Puerto Plata.
Enjoy a new LifeStyle Experience in the SunCampDR Rustic Accommodation; rather than renting Apartments, and Working in the Dominican Republic!!! There is a need for foreigners in the tourist industry! There are many different jobs you can do and many of them are done preferably by foreigners. You don't need to speak Spanish to work in tourism. SPECIAL NOTE: Recently many employers request legal papers. You will need a working visa, which you can apply for here, or a Dominican Residency that will allow you to have the Dominican Cedula (identification). Preferred qualifications for enhancing your work possibilities.
The reality: You may come to the Dominican Republic to enjoy a good life but don’t expect to make a fortune (this way you will not be disappointed). Some jobs like tour guide request specific qualifications obtained in the Dominican Rrepublic. The easiest jobs to find are commission based with no fix salary or very low salaries weather they are in sales, waitress, bar tenders, activities, etc... All jobs normally made by Dominicans in the hotels (maintenance, desk, etc.) pay according to the wage of the Dominican Republic and not to the wages of your country. Also technical work and manual work are paid according to the Dominican salary. For many jobs, you can expect a minimum wage, enough money to get by and live moderately in this country. You can open a bank account in pesos, dollars or Euros. (Some jobs will pay you directly into your account and most jobs are paid in pesos). Very positive: If you are adventurous and have a little money to invest, the possibilities are great in this country! Many things are still to be done here. A good idea can take you a long way…. You can set up a service company in different fields or you can start your own little tourist deal…bed and breakfast, restaurant, bar, tour company, etc.. Don’t forget you will need a license to operate your own. Diane can act as a consultant to inform or guide you For instance, you can be told on what doors to knock according to what you are looking for. She can describe more in details some of the jobs and explain a few more possibilities she can tell you where to meet the employers of different companies; however; at Suncamp, we are not the employer. Your success in finding work remains in your hands, your attitude and goodwill! Location of Muñoz: The advantage of staying at Suncamp is that you are close to the work area in the tourist field in Playa Dorada (14 hotels) and Costa Dorada (2 hotels). See the lists of hotels below. We are located at 2.3 km across the tourist area. Our apartments are the closest to Playa Dorada. Public transportation takes you from Muñoz to the entrance of Playa Dorada for 15 pesos. Some people also drive their bicycles to work! * Also offer vacation club job opportunities. List of jobs
